EXAMPLES OF FUNDED PROJECTS: Funds have been provided for: (1) Evaluations of "what works" for adult basic education and English as a second language programs; (2) conducting an evaluation of Section 353 State set-aside program; (3) conducting an evaluation of the set-aside for corrections education; and (4) an evaluation of a distance learning initiative, Crossroads Cafe. CRITERIA FOR SELECTING PROPOSALS: Applications should address each criterion: (1) Plan of operation; (2) quality of key personnel; (3) budget and cost-effectiveness; (4) evaluation plan; (5) adequacy of resources; (6) national need; and (7) adequacy of resources. Supplemental Security Income 457 USES AND USE RESTRICTIONS: Supplemental security income payments are made to persons who have attained age 65 or who are blind or disabled. Generally, there are no restrictions on the use of benefits received by beneficiaries, although the right to future benefits is not transferable or assignable.
