MIGRANT EDUCATION COLLEGE ASSISTANCE MIGRANT PROGRAM Current Year: Grants: $4,000,000 Loans: $0,000 Other: $0,000 Total:$4,000,000 OBJECTIVES: To assist students that are engaged, or whose parents are engaged in migrant and other seasonal farm work, and are enrolled or are admitted for enrollment on a full-time basis in the first academic year at an institution of higher education. APPLICATION AND AWARD PROCESS: Pre-application Coordination: This program is eligible for coverage under EO. 12372, Intergovernmental Review of Federal Programs. An applicant should consult the office or official designated as the single point of contact in his or her State for more information on the process the State requires to be followed in applying for assistance, if the State has selected the program for review. Application Procedure: Application forms are available from the Department of Education. An applicant submits its application to the Department of Education no later than the 518 date announced by the Department in the Federal Register. An application must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the regulations, instructions, and forms included in the grant application package. The applications are reviewed and evaluated by a panel for possible selection for funding. Award Procedure: The Department of Education notifies successful applicants of awards. The Department of
