Award Procedure: Committees composed of staff of DHHS and/or nongovernmental experts review Project applications. Applications are reviewed based on their merit, are then recommended for approval or disapproval, and are ranked according to the priority score the committees have assigned. The Director of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau makes final decisions regarding funding. Deadlines: March 1 through August 1, depending upon the specific program.
