Most businesses do not qualify for small business grants. Grants are typically given to accomplish a social purpose, such as build up a poor area or get gangs off the street. There are a few grants to assist minorities in establishing businesses, and women are sometimes considered minority owners. If you business falls into one of these categories, you do have a chance at a business grant. Your job is to convince the granting agency or organization that your company will solve a problem, or that you qualify on the basis of a minority status. It’s not always easy, and there are not nearly as many grants as we would like to see. But there are some. If you qualify, do go after them. Good luck.
